Today I’m taking you behind the scenes of a Dorfold Hall wedding, which took place against all odds in the summer of 2021. This exotic and luxurious Jewish wedding was designed, styled and overseen for a very special bride – Tracy is one of my oldest school friends, and she trusted me to create a celebration that was as effervescent as her personality. Tracy set me a task she amusedly remarked was easy…
‘Find me a venue in Cheshire with a beautiful outdoor setting, and guarantee me the perfect summer’s day! 2 out of 3 were within [Michelle’s] qualifications, and she offered hope on the 3rd with a well drafted plan B…’

Dorfold Hall wedding venue
Tracy and David’s Jewish Dorfold Hall wedding took place against the venue’s spectacular backdrop, and they were clear on the brief for the styling of their day: bright and vibrant! Every step of the way I ensured the colour palette and tropical atmosphere was incorporated into every element.
‘Michelle was involved with every aspect of my choices as much or as little as I required. She never interfered but was available to advise on every detail; part of the joy of [working with] someone so experienced.’
Flowers by Rachel of Brambles Florist
One of my main focuses to bring the necessary flair to this Dorfold Hall wedding was to find a florist who could run with Tracy’s flamboyant vision. We found Rachel at Brambles Florist, Prestwich who specialises in the floral style we wanted, and she created a multicoloured oasis carrying through from the outdoor ceremony to the banqueting tables in Dorfold’s purpose built event spaces. There were opulently coloured sprays of flowers decorating their birch chuppah, supplied by The Chuppah Company, as well as fabulous birds of paradise floral chair decor. Rachel also created signature pedestal arrangements and bright, lavish table centrepieces.
‘Exquisite flowers by Rachel of Brambles’
Inside Dorfold’s event space we adorned their banqueting tables with colourful linens and accents of silver, including silver sprayed foliage. Every detail was in keeping with the vibrancy of the brief, down to the lilac kippot by Hebrewear and fans complementing the colour scheme.
‘[It was] all lovingly monitored by Michelle who made sure my husband, myself and all our guests enjoyed the perfect day’
Entertainment at this Dorfold Hall Wedding
In keeping with the eye-catching style at this Dorfold Hall wedding, Tracy and David didn’t hold back on the entertainment either. Although there was no dancing we ensured guests were having a wonderful time throughout; a magician from House of Lemon, Totem musicians and comedian Rory Bremner kept the energy up and everybody smiling. Tracy herself is also a professional speech writer, via her business Speeches2 Remember so her words were a huge part of it too!
‘What would the day have been like without a wedding planner?…I would have been an extremely stressed bride!…I was meant to be a bride of Dorfold Hall in August 2021 and it was meant to be lovingly put together by Michelle, who I can’t thank enough for being excited at the prospect of making sure the day was just as special as if I was a young, first time bride.’
