Katie and Tom’s summer Jewish wedding in Mallorca was an elevated Mediterranean garden party, celebrating the best of the island and our couple. It had everything you could want from a Jewish destination celebration; a magical chuppah, two incredible venues (coastal and mountainous), and a sumptuous colour palette full of Spanish flavour. Katie and Tom’s Jewish Wedding Venues in Mallorca
Choosing the right canvas on which to paint the story of your wedding is the difference between a destination wedding that is great, versus one that is exceptional. We take the search for your perfect venue very seriously, and for Katie and Tom our challenge was to find two showstopping venues that celebrated the island, ticked all their boxes, and would provide a memorable experience for them, their families and guests.
The celebrations began with a welcome event at a beach club, and we exclusively hired a section of the venue where guests could enjoy tapas style food as the sun went down over the sea. Hosting an incredible welcome event for your wedding guests sets the tone for the whole celebration, so we never consider these an afterthought at Elegante by Michelle J.

It was also important to carefully consider the hotels that Katie, Tom, their families and guests would stay in. We selected a range of hotels to recommend to guests, from which we provided transportation to and from the wedding venue. While this is not essential and is done at your discretion, many of our couples like to offer some sort of transport for guests at a destination wedding.
The wedding day itself took place at the fantastic Jardines de Alfabia, a botanical garden venue set among the Mallorcan mountains. We immediately saw the potential for the wedding journey through the venue, making the best of each of its distinct and beautiful spaces; the courtyard would play host to the all-important chuppah, then guests would walk through the gardens to a shaded area for the drinks reception, and finally wind down among the palm trees to the well-kept decking area for dinner and dancing.
Decorating The Space
Whilst we had chosen an incredible venue for Katie and Tom’s Jewish wedding in Mallorca, we still needed to turn our attention to the decor. Elegante by Michelle J weddings usually have a focus on florals, and we love to develop creative designs which blend your style and personality with that of your venue and chosen country.
The vision was to create a Mediterranean garden party with Spanish flair, lots of colour, and playful charm to equal that of Katie and Tom. We created a colour palette centered around greens and pinks, incorporating tonal napkins and glassware, Spanish tile patterns, terracotta pots and wicker place mats. When it came to designing the flowers for this wedding, there was only one woman for the job. Paula Rooney created absolute magic, our chosen colour palette bursting to life throughout the venue and elevating the natural beauty of Jardines de Alfabia.
The chuppah was constructed from scratch in the courtyard, and decked with the most vibrant pink, red and coral toned florals which framed Katie and Tom during their Jewish wedding ceremony.
Themed wedding stationery by Big Day Designs completed our tablescapes, with watercolour illustrations of the venue, floral motifs, and even a sweet depiction of Katie and Tom’s dog. Jewish Wedding in Mallorca: The Team
Aside from choosing the right venue and styling and flowering it to perfection, no Jewish wedding in Mallorca would be possible without a whole team of people to capture it, prepare our couple, and entertain and feed the guests.
We worked with the fantastic Totem who provided music throughout the day, from chuppah to party, with a segue into ‘pied piper’ style saxophone leading guests from ceremony to canapes. Every moment of the fun was captured by Violeta Minnick and Soul Weddings, and Amida Group did a wonderful job of keeping our guests well fed and watered. Top Tips for a Jewish Wedding in Mallorca
Planning a Jewish wedding in Mallorca? Here are our top pieces of advice:
- Research your suppliers carefully. When travelling to a small island for a destination wedding, you naturally won’t find the same range of suppliers as you would in London or the US, for example. Spend some time looking into your options to ensure you know exactly what you’re getting
- You may also find supplier roles are a little different to what you expect at home – often, wedding florists also provide overall styling services, for example – and this may or may not work for you and your vision
- Have at least one in person visit to your wedding venue – pictures can be deceiving, and you should always try to meet with someone who will be present on your wedding day
- Work with a wedding planner! It would be remiss of us not to say it, but working with an experienced destination wedding planner truly makes all the difference when planning a celebration in another country
