Moving on to the next of our Italian wedding venues in our virtual showcase; Villa Medicea di Lilliano.
As we are unable currently to plan any venue search trips, I am bringing you a virtual showcase of Italian wedding venues. Over the next few weeks I will be publishing regular blog posts on a number of venues, one every few days, so keep a look out for them. I am planning to write about some truly special Italian wedding venues.
This is just one of 10 Spectacular Luxury Wedding Venues in Tuscany showcased in my free download which you can access here.
Villa Medicea di Lilliano
Villa Medicea di Lilliano has been home to the Malenchini family since 1836. This former Medici villa is a re-imagined estate which can be yours exclusively for just your wedding day or for several days. The historic estate of Villa Medicea di Lilliano is in the Chianti hills, seven miles to the South of Florence. It is surrounded by 70 hectares of vineyards and olive groves. This Italian wedding venue has the charm of a historic home with elegant modern comforts. The beautiful architecture, art and design, coupled with modern and elegant trappings, make this pretty property a perfect backdrop for a beautiful and romantic wedding.
Event Spaces and Locations
Villa Medicea di Lilliano offers several outdoor spaces for each stage of your wedding day, including:
- a Terrace with the most breathtaking views towards Florence, which is typically used for wedding ceremonies but also drinks receptions and wedding dinners (for smaller guest numbers)
- two beautiful garden areas surrounded by the Florence countryside including a sunken garden area which is beautiful for smaller ceremonies
- a courtyard which makes for the most dramatic of entrances and venue for your pre-wedding cocktail or alternatively your drinks reception
And indoor options include:
- the renovated Limonaia, which can host up to 200 for an indoor banquet in the event of wet weather, but usually is the venue for your after party
- a second banqueting room for smaller guest numbers (or for your ceremony in the event of wet or cool weather )
- a chapel
Villa Medicea di Lilliano is authorised to perform civil marriage ceremonies, officiated by the town hall of Bagno a Ripoli. Alternatively, we can design the most romantic and personal of symbolic ceremonies. We can also host Jewish wedding ceremonies here.
Villa Medicea di Lilliano offers luxury on site self-catering accommodation, split between two neighbouring sites. At the ancient Medici villa there are five suites. There are a further five independent residences at La Torre, which is a short stroll away from the villa through the olive trees. Both residences feature a swimming pool and modern conveniences. These include hi-speed WiFi, air conditioning and heating throughout.
Wedding Weekend Activities
During your stay, you and your guests can participate in wine tasting and olive oil tasting. Both are grown and produced by the property. Alternatively, you can all learn how to make fresh pasta at a cooking class hosted by a local expert. If you prefer to arrange activities outside of the venue, your hosts can arrange trips and tours as required.
This is an Italian wedding venue that offers authentic Tuscan ambience and a bespoke personalised wedding experience. Like several other of the Italian wedding venues in my virtual showcase, Villa Medicea di Lilliano is available for you to hire on an exclusive dry hire basis. If you are unsure what I mean by this, and the benefits, head here where you will find an explanation.
