Holberry Associates Ltd is a bespoke representation company with a well-established reputation in the hospitality sector created by Julie Holberry. Their Italian portfolio consists of independently owned unique Hotels and Villas in the beautiful and romantic regions of Venice, Puglia and Sardinia – which are all perfect locations for boutique – style intimate weddings and celebration events.
Let’s take a walk through her top 5 suggestions :
For an intimate Italian wedding in Venice Julie suggests The Bauer Palazzo, Venice:
The elegant luxury hotel Bauer Palazzo is located in the heart of Venice on the Grand Canal. It is just a few minutes’ walk from St. Mark’s Square, in the centre of Venice’s most famous shopping and cultural district. With its Art Déco-inspired design it is the perfect backdrop for an intimate Italian wedding. Special features of the hotel include the unique roof terrace – Settimo Cielo; under the direction of Michelin star chef Cristiano Tomei, the gourmet restaurant “De Pisis” overlooking the Grand Canal, and a rooftop Jacuzzi with breath-taking views over Venice. The three different terraces offer special scenarios for an intimate Italian wedding, and can be rented exclusively or partially . The hotel offers a variety of indoor spaces which can be used for weddings including the Royal Suite and Presidential Suite. Both are perfect for intimate receptions and also include beautiful terraces with panoramic views.
From Venice we travel to Puglia where Julie recommends Masseria Torre Coccaro
Voted one of the most 100 romantic hotels in the world, Masseria Torre Coccaro was built in the 16th Century and can offer various options for a 5 star intimate Italian wedding. Cocktails can be held around the designer pool lit by 1000 candles, before the Village themed reception in the ancient Piazza under the Old Tower or alternatively in the Ancient Olive Mill . Ceremonies can be held outdoors within the 1000 year old Olive Groves . Masseria Torre Coccaro is renowned for accommodating weddings – one of which was even attended by both Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton.
Le Palme Beach Club is also in Puglia and another of Julie’s suggestions for an intimate Italian wedding
Owned by Masseria Torre Coccaro, this is a new trendy venue ideal for beach weddings with great decor, super food and 5* service. Private Cabanas or traditional seating can be offered on the beach for the ceremony under traditional luminaries, and the receptions can be held in the stylish beach club. Alternatively, the beach club can be used in conjunction with the Masseria.
La Residenza Villa, Puglia
A magical location for an intimate Italian wedding, La Residenza Villa may be rented on request, exclusively as a whole and strictly on a weekly basis with all services included. The sheer size and unique setting of this Masseria allow guests to configure various setup options with a sprawling green lawn, authentic water well platform, pool deck, panoramic rooftop, private beach club, and 8 hectares of ancient olive groves protected by UNESCO.
Finally we move to Sardinia for your intimate Italian wedding at Abi d’Oru
This 5* hotel is based on the beautiful Marinella Beach, in Porto Rotondo in the North of Sardinia. The property has a long tradition of organising unforgettable weddings and can host your ceremony and reception within one versatile location.
All of its menus, along with every detail of the day, can be fully personalised: cakes, flowers, music, decorations and every last finishing touch are tailored to the couple’s wishes. For idyllic ceremonies on the beach, they will often invite groups in traditional Sardinia costume and polyphonic choirs to make your day unique.
